I'm so angry. I had deleted my hellotalk account for personal reasons and upon trying to rejoin, I can't. They're telling me they won't permit me "extra registration" because I had complaints that "I wasn't a genuine language learner and was only interested in posting moments related to sex" which is obvious bullshit. You know what the "evidence" is? This sentence: "Jag är inte säker men jag tror mina grannar har sex just nu. Jag kan höra dem…." which means "I'm not sure but I think my neighbors are having sex right now. I can hear them..." Simply because the word "sex" was in this post, I'm not truly interested in learning languages and I'm only interested in sex. I'm trying to rizz up people on the timeline. I want sex, sex, sex, isn't that what HT is for? That's what they're saying. How fucking insane is that?
And you know what's the crazy part? I was paying for VIP on my account. They let me keep my account even though I had that apparent infraction because I was paying them, and now I don't have an account but they won't let me rejoin, isn't that shady? What was I paying them for if they were going to uppercut me like that?
Also, there's actual bad people on that website that don't receive punishment. There's been people trying to romance or sexually harass me when I've never wanted that. Nothing ever happened to them, but this happens to me. What?
All throughout while defending myself, the support team keeps misrepresenting what I'm saying. They finally showed the "Evidence" but it's not even evidence, it's just a sentence with the word "have sex" in it. I feel like part of it is whoever is responding doesn't have a firm command on the English language, or they're just manipulative and shady. This is super unfair, treating me like I've done something wrong or have had bad intentions when I haven't.
I do like hellotalk for language-learning because the functions are super useful, especially if you're learning Japanese. You can receive corrections from natives and see where you messed up, you can read posts by natives in their original language and also other people learning, and you can join the voice rooms to either study with others or simply socialize. But what I'm most upset about is I can't get in contact with my friends. I've been missing them, that's part of why I wanted to rejoin. Apparently I can't do that now /on this device/, but the one other I have is broken and I don't have money for this kind of stuff.
Like, the fact that I could still potentially join just on another device, seems very silly to me if the whole reason I'm being barred from the app is because I'm on it with ill intentions. For people who do use HT for sexting, if they have money they can just buy as many phones as they want to be able to use the app. Isn't the whole point that people like that are not allowed? So shouldn't they be banned point blank? It's ridiculous.
I also think that you should be able to be heard. So when something is obviously bullshit, you can make your case and have your word taken for it. But they're not even interested in that. It's just "YOU SAID BAD WORD YOU FAKE LANG LEARNER", it's so unintelligent and juvenile. And unfair. So, so unfair.
